The SWD Club's membership is comprised of individuals across the United States and other countries around the world. Our common goal is the long-term endurance and improvement of SWDs and the love and enjoyment of our breed.

Communication is primarily conducted through a private discussion list open only to SWD Club members. Polite and respectful dialog is expected no matter how spirited discussions may become. To encourage participation from all members, there is no separate discussion group for board members. We want to hear from everyone!

Board meetings are conducted monthly via teleconference. New membership applications are voted upon at these meetings. Minutes are posted to the files section of the discussion group.

The following memberships are available to the SWD Club:

1. Regular membership, open to all residents of the United States of America 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the club;
2. Household membership, open to any two residents of the United States of America 18 years of age and older who reside at the same address, who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the club;
3. Associate membership, open to any person 18 years of age and older who is not a resident of the United States, who is in good standing with the national kennel club of their own country, and who subscribes to the purposes of the club;
4. Honorary membership, open to all residents of the United States of America 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the club;
5. Junior membership, open to any resident of the United States younger than 18 years of age, who is in good standing with the American Kennel Club, and who subscribes to the purposes of the club.
